They opened with  “Breakin the Law” which was pretty awesome, they played rather a large number of songs, I cant remember the exact play list but I know that Hells Bells was in there along with Highway to Hell

Thankfully they didn’t do the whole “encore” bull, and just left the stage only  to immediately come back on. No need to chant or wonder if the gig had ended or not!! Woo. They finished the gig on a really good high note by playing dueling banjos. How can you not if one of your band members plays the banjo for the whole show!!

Aside from the music they were an enjoyable band to see, not only did they give you really good banter and wee stories they also took the time to come outside after the gig so that people could take photos with them and have a chat.  The theory behind this is brilliantly sound, however when the front door is on the main street its not so much of a good idea…. still managed to get photos taken with the band members that came out front!!

I can say that if they ever come my way again I’ll defo be going to see them! The fact that they’ve been in Glasgow 15 times in the past 5 years…..I don’t think I’ll be waiting long.. Yeeehaaaa!!

Anyway, I had no form of transport and I’d be buggered if I was going to take the public transport with the hunners of stuff that I’d be dragging around with me. So the decision was made to buy a van which type of van depended on one thing….the cost. Thankfully I had managed to get a few websites built to put into the “Van Fund”. With the aid of my father I manged to get my hands on a wee Citroen Berlingo. Its ten years old and had a few wee niggles but on the whole it was sound.

Within two days of owning it I end up getting a chip on the windshield!! Bugger!! However going on past records with my cars and parking them where I live I decided to go fully comp, so I’ll be able to get the windscreen fixed without having to pay much if anything at all!! YAY!!

So the next step it to now pimp out the bad boy and make it less like a post van and more like a flaming Valkyrie!! I shall keep you posted, along with photos when it gets pimped…..just keep Westwood away from it…….

I decided to create a brand new site basically using imagry that I am interested in, the last site looked a bit plain and boring. On top of this I wanted to have a whole site using nothing but Wordpress (and a little bit of coding magic). However I’m not a coder, I know CSS pretty will and I can design some nifty looking things but when it comes to php and all the other fun cody stuff…..I havnt got a clue.

Thankfully I’m not one for giving up and will usually find a solution one way or another, it might not be the prettiest but at least it works. Now I can add another string to my bow…..if it does take me a few more goes to get everything ironed out.

But still….its a fully working Wordpress CMS site…..:D happy days, and just in time for the new year…..

I managed to get to the venue to see The Damned who seemed to be on stage just as long as the head-line act!! I think they had to be physically removed in order to let Motorhead on!!

Lemmy has got to be one of the coolest front men in any band. He didnt even move from his mic stand, well there was the odd occasion where he put his foot up on the front speakers. He can even pull off the robot arm raise. The man just sweats sleaze….

I’m not too familiar with the entire back catalogue for Motorhead, well they have been going for around 30 years! I did recognise some of the tunes….through the roar of the amps, Bomber and Ace of Spades were clearly standards. I dont think you could see Motorhead and not have them play Ace of Spades. They played a few tracks off the new album and did the odd cover, but the one song that really surprised me was an acoustic track named Whorehouse Blues. Its pretty odd even though it was much quieter than the whole set it still seemed to fit in.

Stay Clean and Killed by Death were also in the mix. Killed by Death is a quality tune!! One thing with Motorhead is that they are consistently good, some bands can lose their way with their sound or sell out and produce inferior music. I’ll be going to see them again…..though will be prepared for the audio battering my ears will take!!
